Notice regarding accommodation tax

Dec 20, 2025

Regarding the accommodation tax for Sapporo City and Hokkaido, which will be introduced from April 1, 2026, the following notice will be sent to those who have made a reservation through Booking.com. We are reproducing the original text provided by our guests.

Thank you for using Booking.com . We would like to inform you of a minor tax change at STAYMoiwayama. We have recently received notification from the local government that a new tax will be applied to all accommodations in your travel destination from April 1, 2026. Accordingly, STAYMoiwayama may collect this tax from you. Please note that this tax applies to both adults and children. Young children and infants may be exempt if they sleep in the same room as their parents. The specific amount will vary depending on the type of accommodation and may differ from property to property. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Except for this minor change, your reservation remains valid under the original terms and conditions. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call our 24-hour customer service or contact the accommodation directly at the phone number listed in your confirmation email. Thank you for using Booking.com. We hope you enjoy your stay at STAYMoiwayama. Booking.com Customer Service Team You can check and change your reservation details at any time from this page. The above is the content of the notification. However, since Booking.com is a travel booking site operated overseas, there may be some questionable phrasing such as "minor," but please understand that our facility is not involved in any way with that.

This accommodation tax will be added to the room rate for stays from April 1, 2026 onwards, regardless of the date of your reservation. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
